Dr. Connie Sitterly

Since being selected as a Distinguished Alumna of TWU in 2005, Dr. Connie Sitterly has continued to grow her Fort Worth, Texas based training business and her realm of expertise and influence.

Management Training Specialists is a Division of Sittcom, Inc., based in Fort Worth, Texas, that specializes in customized training and professional development, executive coaching, management and HR consulting, facilitation and workplace mediation.

Published by Prentice-Hall, Harper and Row, Harper-Collins, Allyn and Bacon, Dryden, Houghton- Mifflin, Academy Medical, and McGraw Hill, among others, Connie’s eight books have been translated in six languages and a few of her books including A Woman’s Place Management, The Female Entrepreneur and The Woman Manager can be found in the Women’s Collection at the TWU Blagg- Huey Library. Her most recent books include The Essential Survival Guide for Managers and Sensitivity Awareness: Solutions for the Workplace.

In 2007, Texas Governor Rick Perry appointed Dr. Sitterly to the Texas Guaranteed Student Loan Corporation Board of Directors for a six-year term where she also serves on Planning and Personnel committees. She also served on the Board of Directors of the Fort Worth Better Business Bureau and is a volunteer mediator for Dispute Resolution Services. She serves as First Vice President of TWU Former Student’s Association, Strategic Planning, and President of the TWU FSA Fort Worth Area Chapter.

Formerly tenured with Amarillo College, she received Department of Management’s Outstanding Service Award. As an adjunct faculty member at TWU in the Department of Business and Economics from 1986-2004 she taught undergraduate and graduate courses including Women in Management, The Female Entrepreneur, Communications, Leadership, Practical Management Skills, Human Relations and Supervision, among others. In her position at TWU she received the TWU Chapter of Mortar Board’s Top Professor Award.

She earned the prestigious CMC (Certified Management Consultant) designation awarded by the Institute of Management Consultants USA. It signifies the highest standards of consulting and adherence to the ethical canons of the profession. The Institute of Management Consultants USA estimates that less than 1% of all management consultants achieve CMC certification.

A few of her honors include US SBA Private Sector Award, International Customer Service Association’s Award for Outstanding Commitment to Customer Service, Oklahoma Governor’s Award – Honorary Citizen of Oklahoma, Distinguished Service as Director of the Better Business Bureau at Fort Worth, ASTD Practical Application Award.

Dr. Sitterly continues to produce articles and training guides on workplace and management issues and is a frequent speaker and seminar presenter, radio and TV guest.

Jake and his wife Mindy have been married over 15 years and have a son and a daughter that they homeschool. They love to read and travel together to learn more about this fantastic planet and the amazing cultures that fill it. They also love Jesus and disciple young christians in their faith.
